Pipeten, what do we say, Saturday night, 11pm, you have a quick look at your website, and eek – it’s not there, it’s down, you’re losing sales, eek! First port of call is to check others in the same domain, nope, down too. I wonder if the hosts know about it, A prompt visit to their control panel and their support system advises me that they’ve now received my email and are looking into it, 5 minutes later an email from a techie advising they are looking into it, and a few minutes later another email to advise that everythings back in working order. Now whilst this doesn’t happen very often, indeed maybe once a year at most that I’ve seen, the customer service and prompt responses are truly stunning especially when you don’t really expect a 5 minute response time at 11pm on a Saturday evening.. fantastic. We have also asked questions relating to various aspects of php coding as well and they are very knowledgeable giving us a quick and reliable response with a similar timeframe during office hours also!

On to the packages that they offer, they may not be up there with the biggest providers, in relation to costs, but they are not far off, however what they do offer is various windows and Linux accounts, shared and dedicated at reasonable prices, and along with the ability to pay monthly it’s easily accessible to the basic of budgets.

They also have a range of the free add ons that are open source in a plug and play scenario, such as phpBB, wordpress, joomla, even ecommerce software oscommerce and cubecart (which we use) a hand link to all the software on click is here – http://www.pipeten.com/software.html . With all this regularly updated to the latest versions, you rarely have to goto the main project page to get the latest, (unless of course you are upgrading yourself).

They also run a cashback scheme too, which is kind of like an affiliate scheme, (but you have to have your own site with them), so when you tell your colleagues about pipeten, and give them the link, you gain £10 added to your hosting account! (we all love that don’t we)!

They also have a Reseller account available, however we’ve never had the need for that so can’t really comment – but it IS there!

We have a dedicated IP, and probably looking to go to a dedicated server within the next year, and I would imagine that we will be staying at Pipeten for the forseeable future.

I’ve just been putting a community website together. The quality of support which I have received from Pipeten via live chat has been far above anything I have ever experienced before. We have been involved in Internet programming and web development for the last decade, and have used many hosts. Since finding Pipe Ten in early 2005 we have not used another host for our websites, as the reliable and fast hosting we have experienced is unparallelled.

Been developing sites for 12 years and have used most of the top hosting companies, came accross pipeten about 3 years ago when a new client was already with them, i was stunned by the service/support they gave, since then i have migrated most of my clients to pipeten and have a number of accounts from basic to cloud servers. i have had many a chat session with support who are always on the ball and fix things straight away, nothing is ever a problem for them including helping out debugging a problem page i once had.
