EUKHOST – ISP Review

Beware this ISP company – in fact don’t use them at all

We have 3 servers with them . A Windows dedicated server in the USA, a Windows dedicated server in the UK and a Linux dedicated server.

The EUKHOST Windows UK server acts as a database server for the sites on all the other servers.

We had the Unix server on the same rack, behind the same switch, as the database server to get a faster connection using a local network IP address.

Ended up with loads of “timeouts” the Unix box continually failed to connect to the database server – even though it was only one hop away.

What a joke EUKHOST is – they even started to ignore emails and deadlines for fixing the problem

I guess they have never heard of network monitoring.

Also be aware they do not protect EUKHOST dedicated IP’s.

If they give you a dedicated IP some clown at another registrar can point his site A records at your IP address. That’s after they hack your htacess to divert all your traffic to their sites

EUKHOST knew of the issue in February – as it’s on their forums .

Action taken by EUKHOSTS – nothing – so we had exactly the same problem in March ! Discovered it in April as the hacked htaccess file was hacked incorrectly.

We asked for a new dedicated IP address – guess what they gave us the same one again ! Another day getting a proper new set. Result: hours and hours of site downtime.

How much has all this cost us ? thousands of pounds in lost revenue, thousands of potential customers, hundreds of Google positions lost, hundreds of hours of management and tech team time, loads of site and page unreachable errors on Google Webmaster tools.

Now you may be thinking, ahh bad coding, nope, when we had the site on a Unix box with another ISP in Germany – no problems connecting to the EUKHOST database server then.

The final straw was when they said the MD will call me in the morning – guess what he didn’t

Eukhost offer a great value for money service. You can always pay through the nose for the likes of Rackspace hosting, but for a company offering an excellent compromise between great value for money and a good service level, Eukhost is without doubt one of the best we’ve tried. And we’ve tried a lot!

Website hosting can always present unexpected problems, and a hosting company can be judged by its level of attention to, and speed of resolution of, these problems. We have always found the Eukhost staff very keen and dedicated to resolving any issues we have had, and in the shark-infested waters of web hosting companies (there are some terrible ones out there), we think Eukhost is one of the best good value companies out there.

Hi,
Just wanted to say a big thanks for all the help and support eukhosting has given me from the time I first joined up and afterwards – especially Miss Liza Scott who was really friendly, helpful and supportive.
Although I’m based in the UK I’ve always used US based servers and hosting but euk are equall if not better.

We are using windows dedicated server with eUkHost for a long time, we had started with VPS hosting from eUk. Now we are hosting more then 30 websites on the dedicated server all websites are working fine as well as there performance in search engines are also good.

We would like to say there performance is very good and customer support is excellent. In the beginning I was not much aware about hosting and servers, at that time eUk Support not only helped us but they also teach us how to do all the jobs. So I am a big fan of there support services.

We have had a dedicated server with eUkHost for over 3 years. We have been very happy with the support we have received. The front line support is responsive and the back office support (senior technicians) are very good. We have had very few issues with the service. We do not have any technicians in our team so the backup that eUKHost provide is a great help to suppliment our knowledge when we get stuck (getting less frequent recently!.

I am using eUKhost for nearly 2 years now ..I will say they are fabulous and really care for customers, as per my expirence with my previous UK hosting provider, eUKhost is the best. Mostly I like there support and uptime always more than expected.

I have no doubt while recommanding eUKhost for anyone looking for reliable UK hosting company.

I would rate eUKhost 10 out of 10. I have been with them for last 4 years. Some of my premium clients are very happy with the service so far. Off-course there gona be some down time like any other hosting service, but eUKhost has always forewarned if any down time and always been efficient with back up etc. I am happy to give spend some time for this review, if that helps others to make the choice for hosting in U.K. I am surprised to see some of the negative reviews but there are always pros and cons. But the such excellent service for the affordable cost, hats off!
